A tornado suspected to have ripped through parts of the Free State on Sunday afternoon, has caused extensive damage.
The Welkom Fire Station’s roof was blown away and sides broken.
Several homes and businesses were also severely damaged.
Municipalities in the Free State received an alert from the South African Weather Service (SAWS), of heavy rains and possible flooding.
Areas on alert are the Mangaung Metro, Moqhaka, and Maliti-aPhofung.
