Eskom said it has experienced high call volumes, as heavy rains continue in the Western Cape.

There are power faults across the City, including
Wynberg, Lakeside, Brooklyn, Rondebosch, Plattekloof, Penelyn Estate, Woodstock, Mfuleni, Bergvliet, Fish Hoek, Grassy Park, Meadowridge, Lentegeur, Rocklands, Gugulethu, Eagle Park, Steenberg, Constantia, Bishopscourt, Plumstead, Philippi, Athlone, Mitchells Plain, Pinelands, Bergvliet and Newlands.

In a statement, Eskom in the Western Cape, said damaged infrastructure from inclement weather, theft, vandalism and illegal connections typically takes longer to repair.

Exact times of restoration were not provided, but areas where power was restored this afternoon, are Citrusdal, De Doorns, Delft and Touwsriver.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has advised that disruptive rains will continue until Saturday, in the Western Cape and Namaqua.
During this period, between 20 and 50 mm of rainfall are expected.
