The Department of Water Affairs and Sanitation is planning to reduce the amount of water in the ClanWilliam dam, from Friday, the 01st August 2025.

Dr Sean Phillips, the Director General of the Department wrote to stakeholders on Wednesday, informing them of the decision to lower water from the current level at 95% to 75%.

This is while construction at the dam continues.

The decrease in water, means supply to users, will be cut by at least 4%.

“This process is expected to take one week to complete” said Phillips.

He went on to say that there are plans in place to protect people and property along the dam basin.
