The Department of Human Settlements has begun the construction of a new pump station and bulk sewer upgrade in Mamelodi’s Erf 34041.
Aaron Maluleka, MMC for Housing and Human Settlements, said this is firstly a critical infrastructure project and secondly, expected to address challenges in the area.
Maluleka also said “the project is also aimed at delivering public infrastructure to the community through construction by using conventional methods and intensive labour methods, to empower the community through Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).
A project summary of the project contained in the City of Tshwane’s annual report, at the end of May 2023, showed about R4,3 million was allocated towards the sewer reticulation of Mamelodi, Erf 34041.
