Johannesburg Water (JW) is planning to shutdown meters on the eve of Good Friday, as part of its demand management plan.

There will therefore be no water in Johannesburg’s upmarket suburb, from 6pm on Thursday, the 17 April, until 5am on Good Friday.

JW said “this is to ensure water supply distribution to struggling systems and areas, within the Johannesburg Water Network.”

Areas expected to be affected the most are Linbro Park, Marlboro, Illovo, Bryanston and Morningside.

JW also said water might start trickling out of taps with a brown colour- evidence of calcified mineral deposits in older pipes.
