3 people have died in SA a in Madagascar and another 150,000 without power, after cyclone Dikeledi ravaged Nampula in Mozambique.
About 200 people were displaced in Sava and Diana.
Another 14,500 were evacuated to shelters, amidst localized floods in Mayotte, the French territory.
Cyclone Dikeledi is reportedly heading south – southeast of the Mozambique channel.
Meteorologists have classified her as a Category 1 storm, because of gusts of between 130 and 158 kilometers per hour.
The Buffalo City Municipality has issued urged visitors to the sea to remain alert, including anglers, surfers and beachgoers and those living close to the coast, between the 13th until the 17th January 2025.
The Municipality said it expects Dikeledi to coincide with a Spring tide and full moon, which could result in a huge storm, rough seas and massive waves.
Lifesaving South Africa has also warned visitors and residents to be extra cautious this week.
