The eThekwini Municipality announced its partnership with the World Trade Centre, signed and sealed on Monday, the 28 July.

Thembo Ntuli, Chairperson of the Economic Development and Planning Committee, said at the ceremony, held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (Durban ICC),on Monday,  “the acquisition of the WTC license, represents a giant leap toward realising our vision of becoming a globally competitive, resilient, and economically inclusive City.”

Ntuli also said the World Trade Centre Durban will become an enabler of economic transformation. 

Durban now joins a global network of over 300 WTC in nearly 100 countries, including cities such as New York, Tokyo, Amsterdam, and Nairobi. 

The license gives Durban exclusive rights to the WTC brand and access to an international ecosystem of over one million affiliated companies.
