An earthquake measuring 6,7, hit Japan’s coast of Iwate prefecture on Sunday, at around 5:03 p.m.

This initially triggered a tsunami advisory for Iwate Prefecture, warning of the possibility of waves up to 1 meter.

But that advisory was called off shortly after 8 p.m, local time.

There are no initial reports of injuries or damage following the quake, except a power outage at the East Japan Railway, which resulted in a temporary suspension of services between Sendai and Shin-Aomori stations.

The Japan Meteorological Agency, said this is number 25 of earthquakes, to have struck off the coast of Japan in the last 24 hours.
