Calib Cassim retired as Eskom’s Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO), after 24 years of service.

His retirement is effective on the 31 October 2026.

But he is expected to continue to serve as an acting GCFO, until his successor is appointed.

Eskom said Cassim played a key role in strengthening Eskom’s financial position and advancing the organisation’s long-term sustainability.

Daphne Mokwena, Spokesperson of the Eskom, said “the Eskom Board and Executive Management thank Mr Cassim for his dedicated service and valuable contribution and wish him well as he enters retirement, while continuing to support Eskom in an acting capacity until a new appointment is made.”
