Nomfundo Maseti, is the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Energy Regulator (NERSA).
The organisation said Maseti was appointed by Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, the Minister of Electricity and Energy.
Maseti is already a full-time regulator at NERSA, responsible for piped gas.
Her interim appointment follows the departure of Advocate Nomalanga Sithole, last Friday.
Ria Govender, Acting Chairperson of NERSA, said in a statement “we congratulate Ms Maseti and thank her for accepting this critical role. Her leadership, expertise and institutional knowledge will ensure continuity and maintain regulatory stability in the energy sector, during this transition.”
