Gauteng Departments will now have new Heads of Department, following an outcome of a forensic report.
Speaking at a media briefing on Sunday, Panyaza Lesufi, Premier of Gauteng, said corruption continues to be one of the country’s most pressing challenges, undermining effective governance and sustainable development.
Investigators found the most offences (10) at the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (GDARD), Education (7), Roads and Transport and Health (4 each) and Infrastructure Development (3).
Lesufi said employees found to have used finances fruitlessly, will be held accountable.
New Heads of Department (HoDs) are Masabata Mutlaneng- Department of eGovernment, Rufus Mmutlana- Infrastructure Development, Ncumisa Mnyani – Treasury, Darion Barclay- COGTA, Thulani Mdadane- Transport, Puleng Gadebe-Mabaso, Khululekile Mase- Agriculture and Rural Development.
