The City of Tshwane announced the upgrade of the Klipgat Waste Water Treatment Plant, will be completed by Monday, the 30th September 2024.
This is despite, acts of vandalism and theft of equipment, since 2015.
Selby Bokaba, Acting Group Head of Communications, at the City, said on Sunday, via a statement, R280 million, was spent by the City on upgrading the facility.
Johann Mettler, City Manager of the City of Tshwane, has urged the community of Klipgat, to work with the City, to protect the facility.
” The community of Klipgat, should help us protect this multi-million rand facility, which has been refurbished and upgraded for their benefit” Mettler said.
To protect the facility, the City, said its Asset Protection Unit, will be on site, at the start of October 2024, to install a security system and monitor access control.
