Johannesburg Emergency Services (EMS) confirmed that Orlando West High School, is not on fire, following a video that went viral on Tuesday.
Kagiso Phasha, Media liaison at the Johannesburg Emergency Services (EMS), said the video is false and was generated via AI.
“EMS can confirm that Orlando West High is not on fire, and no fire was reported to the City’s command and control centre.”
He also said the incident is a dangerous and irresponsible prank, with serious legal implications.
The high school produced greats such as Kgalema Motlanthe, ex President, soccer legends Jomo Sono, Kaizer Motaung and more.
