Laguna Beach in eThekwini, is open again after a dramatic drop in Ecoli levels.
Last week the beach was closed, following high counts of pollution, but on Wednesday, the City announced water quality is excellent, far exceeding expectations.
The City also said it attended swiftly to infrastructure challenges which caused the pollution.
“EThekwini Municipality is steadily advancing restoration efforts, bringing our coastal facilities closer to the high standards enjoyed before the April 2022 floods.”
This brings the number of beaches open to 23.
