Paruk Group’s MAN Lions Explorer E, transports learners across four campuses, belonging to the University of Johannesburg (UJ), including Doornfontein, Auckland Park, Bunting and Soweto.
This is an implementation of a signed letter of intent, to purchase 100 electric MAN buses, made in South Africa.
Riaz Paruk said back in April 2025, it will take R48 million to realise the project of 100 E-MAN buses.
“This deal marks a significant step towards boosting the country’s electric vehicle infrastructure and sustainable public transport” said Paruk.
Speaking at the Road Freight Association (RFA), this week, Liesl de Wet, Chairperson of the RFA Green Transport, presentation was themed “From Fossil to Forwarding: What’s next in Freight Energy?”
She highlighted the significance of addressing climate change, through rail, technology, and electric vehicles.
