Delegates from at least 34 countries are expected to gather, in Cape Town, for the Africa Energy Forum (aef), in Cape Town, South Africa, from the 17–20 June 2025.
Themed ‘Africa United’, the Conference, promises extensive discussions on powering AI data centres, accelerating large-scale solar projects and leading the global energy transition.
New companies in the energy sector, also expected to participate for the very first time, expanding the community of innovators and investors at the event.
Confirmed speakers include the John Dramani Mahama- the President of Ghana,Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa – South Africa’s Minister of Electricity & Energy, Adebayo Adelabu- Nigeria’s Minister of Power and Noureddine Yassaa, Algeria’s Secretary of State for Renewable Energies.
Simon Gosling, Managing Director of EnergyNet, the organiser of the event, said “something urgent has to be achieved as we simply cannot have another 10 wonderful years of investment into projects.”
He also said there is no more time for the blame game, with one side saying -“we need guarantees” and the other saying, “we can’t afford guarantees.”
