A 132kV circuit breaker trip, has plunged most areas across Chelsea/Arlington and Summerstrand substations, in the dark.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro said affected areas are Summerstrand (including up to Marine Hotel), Humewood, Walmer, Walmer Location, Arlington, Driftsands / Lovemore Park, Schoenmakerskop, Arlington / Driftsands, EP Command, Forest Hill, Southdene, Sections of South End, Summer Dunes, SAWTRI and surrounding areas, Happy Valley, Court Yard Hotel and surrounding areas, Marine Towers, Strand View, Cape Recife Waterworks, UPE, Technikon Village, Boardwalk Casino, Kurumanskloof and surrounding areas, Miramar, Pari Park, Providentia and Schoenmakerskop – DSK.
The Ciry also said its technical teams were dispatched on-site, conducting investigations and carrying out the necessary repairs.
