Six suspects were arrested in the Mopani District, in Limpopo, for illegal mining activities, on Monday, the 05 May 2025.
The suspects are between the ages of 23 and 58.
The police said in a statement on Wednesday, the six were arrested by Operation Vala Umgodi teams, who received information about illegal mining activities at a river in Mirikomo-Mawa block 14, in the Mokwakwaila area.
Upon arrival, the police said they spotted suspects.
Elsewhere, in the Capricorn District, a 42-year-old suspect was arrested at Mohodi Village in the Senwabarwana area, because he was found mining without a permit.
