The R43 Gansbaai road is temporarily closed, from Uilenkraalsmond to the gravel road at De Uijlenes Guest Farm.
This is as a result of a fire that has burnt more than 700 hectares, since Saturday.
Concerns began on Monday, when the fire moved down from the mountains, closer to an urban area.
Grootbos Road was also temporarily closed on Monday, but was opened on Tuesday morning, to allow active firefighting and structural protection activities in the Blue Horizon area.
Dean O’Neill, the Municipal Manager at the Overstrand Municipality, has thanked residents for donations to firefighters at odd hours of the night, as well as those on the fire line, including the town’s fire services, the Overberg District Municipality fire, landowners, Working on Fire teams, NCC and goFPA.
