Rand Water was appointed as the implementing agent to render technical and professional services at the Roodeplaat and Rietvlei Water Treatment Works.
Both the City of Tshwane and Rand Water, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to this effect, for the next 12 months.
Maubane Mahlare, Managing Director of Rand Water Services, Simon Xaba- General Manager: Operations at Rand Water, and officials from the City of Tshwane, are on an inspection tour of the Roodeplaat and Rietvlei Water Treatment Works, today, Thursday, the 19 June 2025.
Speaking on site, Mahlare said “this partnership with the City of Tshwane, will be strengthened by a spirit of partnership and mutual respect and a determination to provide a first-class service to the City.”
The contract between the two parties has been concluded for a period of 12 months.
Earlier Rand Water showed a graph, indicating storage level is low, in some of Gauteng’s cities.
The lower the storage, the bigger the risk of water supply issues.
Rand water then urged Metros to reduce water consumption, to boost storage.
