The City of Cape Town has urged residents of Waterstone Mall and Schoonenberg Estate, in Somerset West, to store enough water in clean, sealed containers, ahead of maintenance of systems on Monday.

The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate is expected to temporarily turn off water supply from 22:00. 

Maintenance will replace faulty 300mm diameter valve on the water main that supply these areas.

Next is the maintenance in Rylands’ Mabel Road and Middel Road, from Tuesday, 04th November until 12 December 2025. 

The City said this may result in brief intermittent flow disruptions. 

In addition, because pipe cracking technology, will be used, there will be some noise from 08:00 until 17:00, Monday to Friday. 

Work may also be carried out on weekends and public holidays. 

Water supply will be turned off on Wednesday, 5 November 2025, from 10:00 until 18:00, in Golden Acre, Land En Zeezicht, Nature Valley and Morningside in Bizweni, Somerset West, as well as in Woodstock- from Hyde Street to Sir Lowry Road between Searle Street and Russel Street including Chapel Street, Gray Street, St. Phillips Street, Frances Street, Pontac Street, Nelson Street and possibly immediate surrounds.

Maintenance on Thursday, 6th November from 21:00 until 5am on Friday, will be conducted in Fish Hoek, Table View, West Beach, Parklands, Flamingo Vlei, Blouberg Rise, Bloubergstrand, Sunridge and West Riding.
