Module 1 of the Rooiwal and Klipdrift Waste Water Treatment Plant, is expected to be completed at end of October 2024.

This guarantees supply of 12, 5 Milliliters of water per day to the Babelegi Reservoir.

Themba Fosi, the Mayoral Committee Member (MMC) for Utilities, Regional Operations and Coordination, in the City of Tshwane, said the Babelegi Reservoir, will supply water to Mandela Village, Marokolong, Ramotse, Gardens and Babelegi Industrial.

Other modules are expected to come on stream in 2025.
Module 2, to supply Majaneng and Kudube reservoirs, will be completed in February 2025.

The City roped in Magalies Water Package Plant to supply water to Hamaanskraal, subsequent to National Government intervention, and a cholera outbreak.

The City shared results of its audit in Hammanskraal, which indicates about 37,620 households have 23, 616 water meters, in good condition.
Another 14, 004 meters, will be installed, to prepare for water supply.

At the time of a cholera outbreak in Hammanskraal last year, EN365, spoke to Fenkie Modise, Businesswoman and laundry owner,  whose business and home is in Hammanskraal. Modise said, as a result of the bad water quality in the area, she commutes to Pretoria, to buy chemicals to clean it for her laundromat.

She said her operational costs have been on the rise for 10 years now. “I have to spend money on expensive chemicals to get rid of the smelly and dirty water of Hammanskraal.”
