Parts of Carolina and surrounding areas have had no water since Sunday.
The Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality said a motor breakdown at the Carolina Water Treatment Works is the cause of the glitch in water supply to at least three big Wards.
These areas are part of the Gert Sibande Municipality, including Dipaleseng Local Municipality, Govan Mbeki Municipality, Lekwa Local Municipality, Mkhondo Local Municipality, Msukaligwa Local Municipality and Pixley ka Seme Local Municipality.
Phetla Thapelo, Spokesperson of the Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality, said restoration time is expected at around 5pm, on Monday, the 10th March 2025.
