The SAWS (South African Weather Service) has advised people to stay out of the sun, stay hydrated, wear lose clothes and not leave animals and children in parked vehicles. This, as a heatwave sweeps across parts of the country.

Persistently high temperatures are expected in Gauteng, parts of the Free State, the North West, the North Eastern part of the North West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and parts of the Midlands in KZN.

SAWS says the wave will begin on the 22nd – 24th November 2023.

Some of the implications of the heatwave on health, include exhaustion, heat strokes  hyperthermia and dehydration.

Some areas of Johannesburg do not have water due to low reservoirs, Johannesburg Water, sent out a notice that affected areas include Rabie Ridge, Diepsloot, Linden 1 and the Cammondo System ( Brixton reservoir, Brixton Tower, Hursthill 1 & 2 and Crosby reservoir).
