A storm wreaked havoc in Tshwane last night, affecting informal settlements.
Cullinan and Refilwe extensions 1, 2 and 4 were badly affected.
A statement from Tshwane Municipality, said trees were ripped apart, in parts of Centurion, blocking streets and damaging electricity lines.
A storm also affected Hammanskraal, where 40 informal houses were destroyed in Kekana Gardens.
Tree falls in Mamelodi, injured a child and destroyed a few homes.
Charles Mabaso, spokesperson for the Emergency services in Tshwane, said affected people in Hammanskraal, refused to be accommodated by a Guest House, organized by the Municipality.
He also said there is a planned meeting in Cullinan, to determine accommodation alternatives for affected residents there.
