A fire danger warning was issued for prone areas in the western parts of the North-West, parts of Northern Cape, and western parts of Free State.
The warning, issued by the South African Weather Services (SAWS) for today, is also applicable for the interior of the West Coast District, Cape Winelands and Kannaland Local Municipalities in the Western Cape.
SAWS also said heatwave conditions resulting in persistently high temperatures that exceed the average maximum, are expected over the western parts of Free State, north-eastern parts of Northern Cape and south-western parts of North-West on Monday.
These conditions are expected to spread and include the central parts of Free State and the south-eastern parts of the North West Province on Tuesday.
