The Humane Society International Africa is requesting support for teams, who have been fighting the Mierkraal fire outside Bredasdorp.
Donations of non-perishable goods can be dropped off at the Bredasdorp Fire Station (Long Street) or at the Pick n Pay Struisbaai.
The Agulhas Municipality said teams are preparing for the forecasted South Easterly wind on Sunday.
Efforts on Saturday aimed at clearing the contained spots, as well as blocks between the Struisbaai and Arniston roads. This area keeps burning in at least 3 different areas, due to fuel load.
The fire has burnt an estimated 1500 hectares, and is mostly contained.
