The Eastern Cape Department of Transport has closed some roads temporarily due to snowfall today.
Road closed are the following below:
N6 road Queenstown at Penhoek Pass towards Jamescalata closed due to snow.
R58 road Barkley East at Barkley Pass towards Elliot road closed due to snow.
R58 road Barkley towards Lady Grey road closed due snow.
R61 road Cradock towards Graff Reinet road closed due snow.
N6 road Aliwal North towards JamesCalata slippery only cars able to Pass heavy duty vehicles stucked.
R67 Whittesea at Nico Malan Pass towards Seymour very slippery closure is imminent due to snow.
The N2 still is still closed after rocks were thrown onto the National roads by strong winds yesterday. The part of the N2 temporarily closed, is from John Tallant towards town, to allow cleaning up, which is already underway.
Other roads closed include Meiringspoort because the Grootriver is overflowing.
Elsewhere in Lesotho, snow is thickening along the A1 to Mokhotlong.
