A flight from Ahmedabad Airport in India (Flight 171) crashed on Thursday, killing 242 people.
It was headed to the London Gatwick Airport, when it crashed into the BJ Medical College UG Hostel.
Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, is among the deceased passengers on the plane.
2 of the College’s students have also died on the ground and 48 injured and rushed to hospital.
Preliminary investigations point to a technical fault during takeoff, resulting in a crash, just minutes after takeoff.
Air India Spokesperson acknowledged the incident, and said of the deceased, 169 are Indians, 53 are British, 1 Canadian and 7 are Portuguese nationals.
