The Los Angeles fires have killed an estimated 25 people and burnt about 40,000 acres.
Hollywood Actress, Dalyce Currie (95), is the latest person to have died in the fires.
Jordan Mitchell lost both his dad (Anthony) who was in a wheelchair and brother (Justin) who had cerebral palsy in the fire in Altadena.
The Los Angeles fire Department said in an update, a lot of things must happen before repopulation can begin, even in areas not directly impacted by the fire.
“Multiple agencies are working tirelessly, simultaneously, to make areas safe so residents can return.
The evacuation zone will be broken down into smaller sections, allowing residents to return to some areas but not all. Some will take longer.”
This is as residents of properties that looked less burnt, in the Palisade fire, want to go back to their homes.
The Fire Department said while there may not be active flames and some areas might look safe, significant dangers remain.
Hazards such as damaged gas lines, downed power lines, and unsafe drinking water still pose serious risks.
