A big fire broke out in Pretorius Park, in Tshwane, leaving 2,600 people displaced, destroying 814 homes.
In a statement, the City of Tshwane, said its Emergency Services (EMS) responded to a fire on multiple informal homes, on Saturday morning, around 4am.
Although resources were dispatched on time, a large area was gutted down, upon the arrival of firefighters.
Lindzay Mnguni, the City’s Spokesperson for disasters, said one male patient was treated on site, before being sent to Steve Biko Academic Hospital.
A female survivor, was also sent to Mamelodi Hospital, but a third patient succumbed to injuries.
The cause of the fire, is under investigation.
