Rand Water’s summer maintenance kickstarts on Saturday, the 13 to 15 December 2025.
The second round is scheduled for the 19 to 21 December 2025, and again from 6 to 8 January 2026.
Johannesburg Water (JW) announced its contingency measures at a press briefing, held in Langlaagte, Johannesburg, on Friday.
Dineo Majavu, Chairperson of the Board, said JW has invested in its own water tanker fleet, for the upcoming maintenance period and beyond.
In addition, the entity has developed a comprehensive operational and communication plan, to issue early-warning notices and regular updates to customers, and stakeholders, including ward councillors.
Majavu also said technical teams are ready to tackle arising bottlenecks.
Affected systems on Saturday are Palmiet, Daleside and Zwartkopjes.
