The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has recalled NAN Special Pro HA Infant Formula (0–12 months).

The product is intended for the dietary management of infants at risk of developing cow’s milk protein allergy.

Phetho Ntaba, Spokesperson of the NCC, said the affected product is a NAN Special Pro HA 800g with a batch number -51660742F3.

It was produced in June 2025 and distributed across South Africa, Namibia and Eswatini.

“The product recall follows the identification of a potential presence of Cereulide, a toxin produced by Bacillus cereus, which constitutes a food safety concern” said Ntaba.

Consumers in possession of the affected NAN Special Pro HA Infant Formula 800g are urged to return the product to the point of purchase for a full refund.
