The Cities of Johannesburg and Tshwane will co-chair the 8th Urban (U20) Cycle, in Pretoria on Monday, the 03rd March 2025.
This is the first time ever that cities in Africa will host the global initiative, advancing urban priorities.
Themed “Cities leading the way in reimagining Global Change” the U20 is expected to set the tone for the G20 Summit in November 2025.
There Cities are expected to address issues related to climate change, economic recovery and social equity.
50 Cities are expected to attend the U20, convened by C40 Cities.
Next meetings after this one are the Sherpa Summit assembling African Mayors in Tshwane (10-12 June 2025) and the U20 Mayors Summit in Johannesburg (12 – 14 September 2025).
