There were at least 21 earthquakes in 7 days in Japan, with the most strike, on Saturday afternoon, May 31, 2025 at 5.37 pm local time (GMT +9).

The quake was measured at 6.1 and occurred in the North Pacific Ocean, near the coast of Hokkaido.

The Japan Meteorological Agency, said it was shallow, with a depth of 10 km. 

There were no casualties reported or damage to property, as a result of the quake.

The quake was felt at least 87 kilometres away, from its epicenter, in Shiranuka.
