Jobs now available on the Earthnews365 portal
Over 100 job links from companies in three industries are now available on www.earthnews365.co.za
The news and information portal has a specific focus on water, energy, nature and earth. Over 900 jobs are now available.
“We have provided links to jobs, to get seekers to explore the various company links. This will help in identifying opportunities you could have otherwise missed” says Nandi Mgwadlamba, who is the managing editor of the portal.
The first two products of the portal are now readily available- daily news and happenings in water, nature, energy and earth. The second product is availing job opportunities.
“The third product is a surprise for now. All I can reveal is we are working tirelessly to connect you to news and information, opportunities and more.”
This week we profiled the story of what happens when bullfrogs leave the ecosystem, the two faces of plastic, progress regarding renewable energy and the Presidential Committee on net zero. We also covered the Hamanskraal water issue extensively, ground water, and many more. All these are available on the portal.

Frequently asked questions
1. What jobs are available?
There is a combination of jobs in both the public and private sectors, mostly formal jobs are on the links. They are found on company career websites. Instead of someone navigating all 100 different sites through search engines, for example, all over 100 links are available from the same platform for perusing.
2. How many?
We have found around 900 from just over 120 links. We will be adding more every month. We are also looking for strategic human resource partners, this will scale up the number of jobs to a targeted 3000 by the end of 2023.
3. Where are they located?
They are located around the country, with the majority in cities like Johannesburg and Cape Town. We can’t wait for more jobs to come from peri-rural and rural areas, we are watching the energy space closely, particularly renewable energy, manufacturing, food production and technologies, water projects, infrastructure upgrades, green jobs (working for programmes), transport and logistics.
4. Will this initiative make a difference to people?
Yes, we are hoping they will navigate more than just one job and spend time on the portal to be attracted by other offerings.
While the jobs offered are not new and do not make a huge difference necessarily to the unemployment figures, they certainly guarantee a good match between the right people and the right jobs. Those discouraged are able to see there are opportunities out there by introducing them to companies they would not have otherwise known exist.
5. What new products will be offered?
We would rather wait until next term to say.
But with a human capital partner, we are able to reach far more companies, and add more jobs. We will also be able to allow people to take tests online, like personality tests to suit jobs and others. We can’t wait to serve more.
