The City of Tshwane announced it is ready to supply clean water to residents of Hamaanskraal by September this year.
This is a temporary measure, as the construction of Rooiwal Waste Water Treatment Plant continues.
The City has roped in Magalies Water Package Plant to supply water to Hamaanskraal.
The City said results of its audit indicates 37,620 households have 23, 616 water meters, in good condition.
Another 14, 004 meters will be installed to prepare for water to be supplied by Magalies Water.
Tsebo Majoro, Spokesperson of the City’s Utilities and Regional Operations, said the construction of the Rooiwal Waste Water Treatment Plant is well underway.
The plant is a key project in the City’s commitment to provide clean water to residents.
Majoro said the installation of the Clear Vu fence at both the Northern and Eastern sides of the works, was installed.
Now the team is working on installing blowers and belt press.
“Over the next three months, we anticipate advancing the construction of two primary sedimentation tanks, the refurbishment of the east flow balancing tank and pump station, and the upgrading of the anaerobic digesters at the Rooiwal West Works.”
The City is expected to meet residents of Hamaanskraal in an Imbizo on Saturday.
