The Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) 4th Annual Research Colloquium in Midrand, on Tuesday, explored ways of funding green infrastructure (natural and semi natural).
In addition discussions centred on evidence-based research and collaborative thinking, to drive sustainable recovery, equity and long-term growth.
Experts, practitioners and stakeholders are part of the meeting.
The DBSA said in a brief, the theme of the meeting is “Building Resilient Infrastructure for Socioeconomic Transformation in Emerging Economies.”
Papers presented include those by Sifiso Mchunu -“the Role of Green Bond Financing in Advancing Renewable Energy Development in South Africa.”
Others are by authors- Darlington D. Lipenga-“Advancing ESG Through Green Infrastructure Solutions in Blantyre & Zomba,” Sibongile Nkosi -“Strengthening Governance & Institutional Capacity for Inclusive Infrastructure Delivery” and Dirk Mostert (PwC) & Rabagolo Melesi (Raba Energy)- “South Africa’s Energy Infrastructure Investment Requirements: A Systems Approach to Achieving Net‑Zero by 2050.”
The DBSA also said the colloquium creates a platform to share new research, exchange best practices, and engage in emerging policy shifts shaping the future of infrastructure investment and development finance.
