At least 4 areas in different provinces have water interruptions due to electrical faults.
Eastern Cape
The Sandile Water Treatment Works, in the Eastern Cape, is faulty, thus leaving residents without water. Those most affected are in Middledrift, Tamara, Qawukeni, Rabula, Ngcamngeni, Mxumbu, Dimbaza and surrounding areas.
The Amatola Water Board said in a statement, that an electrical fault led to the breakdown.
The Chris Hani Municipality, also in the Eastern Cape, informed residents of Cala, of a burst pipe causing a delay in the supply of water. The Municipality, also said its technicians are busy fixing the pipe.
Free State
Another electrical glitch, left the Patsima Village and the Moses Kotane Hospital, without water.
Eskom promised a problematic transformer in the area, would be repaired by the end of today, according to an alert provided by Magalies Water.
City of Tshwane
Maintenance work by Eskom has led to no water for Regions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 of the City.
In an information bulletin, the City said the interruptions are planned, that Eskom is fixing a transformer in the Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Works.
The City also urged residents to use water wisely.
