Repairs at the Elandsjagt Treatment Works, are well underway, placing pressure on water supply to areas supplied by the Emerald Hill and fort Nottingham reservoirs.
On Friday, the Metro announced the Emerald Hill reservoir was running dry.
Maintenance is expected to increase production at Churchill treatment works and drop water from Loerie treatment works into the Churchill pipeline.
The Metro also said demand has peaked, as some areas remain without water, including Kensington, Richmond hill, Walmer Heights, Greenshields Park, Walmer 1st Ave to 6th Ave, Walmer township Gqeberha, Glenhurd, Newton Park, Schauderville, Mangold Park, Greenacres, Perridgevale, Adcockvale, Parsons Hill, Glendinningvale, Mill park, Linkside, Mount croix, Greenacres hospital, St George’s hospital and high -lying areas of central.
The Metro said it would avail water trucks.
