A fire at the Cydna Substation, on Thursday morning, left some suburbs, North of Johannesburg, in the dark.
Affected areas are Abbotsford – Birdhaven – Elton Hill, Melrose, Winston Ridge, Killarney, Houghton Estate, – Oaklands, Norwood, Waverly, Highlands North, Bramley, Illovo, Riviera and Atholl.
City Power said Johannesburg Emergency Services (EMS) needed to first extinguish the fire, so assessments of the network could begin.
