The eThekwini Municipality said its Disaster Management and Emergency teams remain on high alert, amidst Friday’s heavy rains.
Flooded Highways and Freeways are the N2 North: Flooded opposite Arbor Crossing, N2 South: Massive puddles near Galleria, poor visibility near NPC, the N3: Poor visibility towards Durban, Southern Freeway: Huge water patches after Jacobs over-ramp, M13: Huge puddles from Pinetown to Durban.
Main Roads that are flooded are the M4: Near Virginia Airport (Southbound): Large water pools, Offramp (Hyper by the Sea): Flooded, Riverside: Right lane flooded, the M7 Eastbound: Huge potholes after Bellville (all 3 lanes affected).
Local Roads that are flooded are the Andrew Zondo Rd (Prospecton/SPCA): Drain covers popped out,Umgeni Rd (Alpine to town): Flooding, heavy rain, Umhlanga Marine Drive (before petrol station): Flooded, no-go, car underwater, Calendula Rd, Craigieburn (Umkomaas, by Engen): Flooded, Bremar Ave (by Neighbourhood Café), Blue Lagoon (after garage): Waterlogged, Morningside area: Windermere, Innes (by Mitchell Park), Musgrave/Florida Rd intersection, North Coast, Between Mimosa and Nandi, Batstones Bridge (Umtentweni) and Kingsway High School bridge.
The City also said there is disruption of bus services on North Coast Road as a result of the road flooding.
Several bus routes in the north are also affected, including in KwaMashu F, J and K Sections.
No incidents were reported around the City.
