uShaka Marine World has expressed sadness at losing Khethiwe, the youngest dolphin at uShaka Sea World.
Dr Larry Oellermann, SAAMBR CEO, said Khethiwe’s sudden death is an unexpected shock.
“Khethiwe has a special place in all our hearts. As you can imagine, the SAAMBR team is inconsolable and my heart goes out to my colleagues, who were present at her birth, and now have had to say goodbye too soon. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts as we navigate the difficult road ahead” said Oellermann.
The cause of her death is still unknown.
The SAAMBR team is expected to conduct a full necropsy on Friday.
Khethiwe is Gambit and Frodo’s daughter.
