Primary schools are closed in Lahore, Pakistan, due to air pollution, from the 04th to 09th November 2024, as a result of alarming air quality levels.
This is caused by vehicle and industrial emissions, smoke, the burning of waste and dust.
Lahore is the 296th polluted country in the world, according to IQAir.
The country has exceeded a count of 1,000.
Senior Prime Minister, Punjab Maryam Aurangzev, said pollution has intensified the City’s smog crisis, therefore Government, has introduced measures to address this, such as banning plastic bags, monitoring construction sites and arrests of farmers for crop burning.
