A new record was set for fully-electric vehicles (EVs) in South Africa, in 2023. About 931 new fully electric vehicles were sold.
This is an 85% increase from about 592 units sold in 2022.
This figure was announced by Toyota South Africa at its State of the Motoring Industry (SOMI) 2024.
