A heatwave is expected to hit 7 of South Africa’s Provinces.

An advisory from the SAWS has cautioned against extreme heat in the north-eastern parts of Eastern Cape, starting from Thursday until Sunday. 

Hot weather is expected in the remaining 6 provinces on Friday until Monday next week, including Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Free State, North West Province, eastern parts of Northern Cape and north- western parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, has advised residents to stay hydrated during this time and to reschedule outdoor activities for relatively cooler times of the day, such as mornings and evenings.
