The weather service has issued a Yellow level 2 warning against severe thunderstorms and heavy rains, on Thursday, over the North West, Gauteng, most parts of the Free State, Highveld of Mpumalanga, south-western Limpopo, north-eastern part of Northern Cape, and extreme western parts of KwaZuluNatal.
Strong wind, and large amounts of small hail and lightning, can be expected in these areas.
In addition, the SAWS warned against damaging winds leading to difficulty in navigation at sea, between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas from Thursday evening into Friday afternoon .
