The wind speed has dropped in the Cape Winelands, and the Huguenot Tunnel is now open to all vehicle classes, Randall Cable, SANRAL Western Region Manager said on Saturday midday.
Elsewhere in the Cape Winelands, the Municipality awarded a tender for a Non-Motorized Transport project for Pionier School, which includes upgrades to three intersections and the construction of several traffic-calming structures.
The affected intersections are Tulbagh/Adderley, Tulbagh/Porter and Porter/Church Streets, expected to experience changes to traffic flow during the six-month construction period.
Upgrades in Tulbagh/Adderley Street intersection, will start on the 4 November to 13 December 2024.
The Breede Valley Municipality said construction will cause some inconvenience and motorists are urged to follow traffic signals and comply with the instructions of traffic officials to ensure smooth traffic management in the area.
