The Huguenot tunnel is temporarily closed to heavy vehicles and those with trailers on Saturday morning, due to wind speed.
Melanie Koen of SANRAL in the Western Cape, also said this may change, depending on wind speed.

Lebombo Border

Truck drivers are still stranded on the Lebombo border post, following violent protests that broke out due to an election outcome in Mozambique.

The Road Freight Association said delays in tensions on the border between South Africa and Mozambique, have cost an estimated R50 million in imports and exports thus far.

Gavin Kelly, the CEO of the Road Freight Association, said these tensions are costing South Africa, about R10 million a day.

Mkhuleko Hlengwa, the Deputy Minister of Transport, has said motorists must be patient regarding the Mbokodweni River Bridge.

The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) will repair the damaged Mbokodweni River Bridge on the N2 in KwaZulu-Natal, until December.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned against severe thunderstorms resulting in localised damage to property and localised flooding due to heavy downpours, damaging winds and hail is expected in places over KwaZulu Natal, Free State, north-eastern
parts of the Eastern Cape as well as the extreme north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape. 

The SAWS also warned against high fire damage   conditions over the central northern parts of the Northern Cape.
