The campaign to tidy up the City of Johannesburg, is gaining traction.
Dada Morero, the City Mayor, announced the listing of more than 150 Chief Executives (CEOs) in an attempt to push forward the urban renewal plan.
In an announcement via social media on Sunday, Morero said “this goes beyond a standard cleanup; it is a launch of a powerful, long-term alliance aimed at transforming Joburg’s culture towards sustained cleanliness and civic ownership. Rooted in the philosophy of Ubuntu, this initiative re-invokes the inherent civic spirit where businesses and residents assume collective responsibility for their surroundings.”
A three-day mobilisation meeting with stakeholders is expected to kick off next week, the 12 and 13 November, and the 14th of November in Soweto.
